Adding to component set
Thursday, June 30, 2005 11:16 AM
The tweeters and crossovers were stolen from my Kicker RS4c component set a while ago but I still have the 4" mid. I have another set of the RS4c's does anyone know if there would be an issue with hooking up both 4" mids to the mid side of the crossover? I was going to ask kicker, but this computer I have to use at work sucks ass and won't handle flash right.

Thanks

well it will problaby change the ohm load and nock u down into the 2 ohm range if your using 2- 4" speakers. just throw the 4" in for rear fill. or just keep them on a shelf at home or sell them

Changing the impedance on a passive crossover is not a good idea. It will change the cut off frequencies and can really mess things up if you arent careful.

You could swap your crossover for this cheapy but its only a 6db/octave slope so I wouldnt feed them too much power. Also, be sure to run the mids in series if you do so you get the 8ohm load needed. Its a VERY cheap crossover and will be nothing like the crossover that comes with your set but for that price you might just want to give it a try and see how it sounds.
