I need an auxiliary input adapter for my '02 sunfire. Does anybody know if
this will work? And yes, I know it lists it as working at the bottom but I had a recent bad experience with
this which also claimed to work with my car. Also, if anyone has any other recommendations, they're more than welcome. I will be using this to connect my ipod, but am not particularly looking for an actual ipod interface as was the case with the wiretunes product, but again all suggestions are welcome. Thanks
Funny... they list Sunfire, but not Cavalier.
I don't think it will work. You don't have a CD changer input on the stock deck. There MIGHT be an input for a cassette player, but you'd have to check the rear of the unit. Some do, most don't.

I have that exact adaper, and i have yet to get it to work, but i haven't tried very much yet. I have a class II rds system on a 2001 sunfire (the one with the song info from the radio stations). there are pics of my radio at
http://www.home.cwru.edu/~abf I think it will work in my car, but my only concern is that I have a 24 pin harness in my car, and this has a 12 pin harness. the instructions essentially say that you should take the 12 pin harness out of the back of your radio (which i can't do since i have a 24 pin harness), plug it where it fits in the gm12-aux, then plug the other end of the gm12aux back into the radio. So, I will be testing my harness next week, so I will let you know if it works
btw the back of my radio has a 12 AND 24 pin connector as the webpage says you should have, so it sound like this will work on my car... but i haven't had a regulated 12V power supply in my car to test it in a while

i have the 12 pin port in the back. is that for the cassette player? i just figured it was a general aux port. i'm getting so frustrated with this damn wiretunes interface though. i have a feeling i'm gonna just end up buying a new head unit. maybe i should cut my losses and do that before i spend any more money.
to wire a new head unit you'd need to buy an interface cable that will cost you $30+

I was wondering the same thing about the Aux inputs on a 95-99 Cavalier.
Here is a picture of my stock cd player. It has an Aux button, and on the back it has a 9 pin port. If I bought a cable such as
this one I could hook up a Delco CD changer or Delco tape player, correct?
Unless I'm mistaken, I could theoretically use a cassette adapter to play my ipod through the Aux input. It would sound terrible though, is there an easy way to modify that 9-pin cable to have RCA or mini plug jacks on the other end (instead of a tape player)?
the picture sucks and the words could be bs. Im not going to say much. if you could find a better pic we could help more. the design of it is crucial and I cant see ish
Try Metra, they have an aux input adaptrer for an 02 , and they are working on a 3ch input.. not too sure wether they have the 3 ch yet or not... but they do have it listed.... suposedly its a board that plugs in the back of the stock radio
wait for it... wait for it... NOW GO!! ---> '02 LS Sport <---

This is an old thread, but I want to know if anyone's tried one of these. I got a 2004 Cavalier LS Sport and I found one on Crutchfield, the reviews seem promising but I'm still skeptical.
Thats really what I wanted to know. Also I found a Soundgate one, that looks nearly identical to the PIE one, but is about half the price. Think that would be just as effective?
BTW I have the RDS/MP3 CD stereo.
