Thermal runaway

Since im using so many LEDs going to a switch, will i have to be worried about thermal runaway, if my voltage jumps around between 14.4 and 12v?

guess this has never been asked before.

I don't think anyone can answer accurately without having more information on your led setup. Just could hook it up and if you start to see failures, then look into getting a current regulator.

Your voltage fluctuation isn't what you should be worrying about. Thermal runaway is caused by an overcurrent condition, where the LED's are in a circuit formation to allow for a high current situation. If you want to prevent overcurrent, then you should use a current limiting resistor.

If you insist on overdriving your LED's, try soldering an aluminium heat sink to your negative leads to dissipate the heat faster.
