Alternator Whine will not go away

OK I used to just put on a simple ground loop isolator in line with the RCAs and it would go away. Now that barely helps, I've tried different RCA wires still having the problem, I've tried using capacitor noise filters on the power lines still doesnt help, I'm really starting to think maybe the deck itself is bad

sounds like it try this. take wire and ground the metal tips of your rcas. see if that takes it away. you can do it at both ends but at the amp is prolly easier.

do you know what piece of equipment the noise is coming from? the amp? the headunit? have you tried the grounds. i check ground before anything else. 90% of the times alternator whine is from a bad ground.

The isolator is just a band-aid to cover up the problem. Even if your ground looks good, move it to a different location and you will most likely see a difference. If you have more than one amp, ground them with the same screw/bolt. If you are running your amp turn on lead using that moled wire between the 2 RCA's that some company's make, don't use it. I have eliminated noise before just by changing that. Good luck.

i have the head unit grounded to 3 different places and the amps share a common ground, I even had a ground running from the head unit to the amp, i cant ground anything any more than it already is

remove your negative bat cable, clean it and reconnect it, loosen your alt and move it some, then retighten it. if that doesn't help, try running a ground wire (you can do a temp wire and see if it helps) and ground your radio right to your bat.

Try using factory grounds for the amps.

first you need to isolate what is causing the noise.

do you have any speakers running off the deck? is there noise through them? are their noise through ALL the amped speakers?

figure out what's causing it before trying anything and everything.

a few times in my car it's been the wiring on the stereo harness in the dash. cramming all the wires back there and the power wire got tangled with signal wires. i slid the radio out while it was on and the noise went away.TRY THAT!

battery term is brand new
Ive thought about grounding right to the battery i need to find some spare cable
I dont run any speakers off the deck they are all off the amps, off the deck there is no noise though, noise is there no matter how much i jiggle the cables

are you running all these grounds at the same time?

if you only get it in the amp, you can pretty much ignore your stereo connections. I'd hook the RCA's to the amp up to something with some RCA in's and see if you still hear it. if not you know it's in the amp. ground the amp to a different part of your car, turn the gain down some... replace your amp... just listing random crap I'd try

try one at a time, im not sure but if you have a bad ground i'd think you'd still get noise in the system even if u hooked up 2 good grounds.
