I have a very annoying click or pop when I turn on an electrical device. When I unplug the RCA wires, and turn on something electrical, it doesn't make the popping noise. So i pulled out the RCA wires as much as possible and hooked them back to the amp... same thing. I thought it may be a ground problem with the head unit. I had the ground plugged into the factory ground wire in the harness. Would it be better to try a chasis ground??? If so, where is a good spot to attach the ground wire?
thanks a lot
i disconnected the ground from the wiring harness and attached it to a screw right under where the radio is installed. the screw seems to hold a piece of plastic to a metal pipe, so i figured it must be connected to the chasis somewhere.
The pops are much better now, but they are still audible... only at low volumes. The pops do not increase in volume as the music does, but it is very annoying and low and regular listening volums ( as in when i'm not blasting it.). anybody else have any ideas??
thanks
