Can I bridge this?

I have 2 12' subs in an enclosure. I have a 2 channel amp that is 2 ohm stable. I my system profesionally installed. And he didn't bridge the amp. I heard I can get more power out of the amp if I bridge it. Can I bridge the amp and run my 2 subs. Or is bridging only if you have one speaker. If I can how do I wire the subs and amp. Please give step by step for I am a nebie. Thanks

are your subs dvc (dual voice coil)? if they are you can onle bridge it the coils are run in series (assuming they're 4ohm coils) with the subs in parallel. or the coils in parallel with the subs in series. the rule of thumb is when you bridge an amp it seems like the impedence is cut in half

My subs are power bass extreme and are 4ohm single voice coil. the amp is a fusion. They are just wired in stereo now. Positive to positive negative to negative.Hope this helps

It looks as if the Fusion 2 channel amplifiers are only stable to 4 ohms when bridged. If you were to bridge the channels you will have to run your subs in series so that you don't put too low of a load to the amp. This will give you an 8 ohm load. Because of the higher impedence you'll lose any extra power you would get from bridging the channels.

Long story short, I say leave the setup how it is.
