my thery is keep it down around homes, and hosptials, and after 10 and i have yet to have a problem with cops , even if i sit i long traffic jams ill turn it down.

Quote:

Overexposure to noise is now understood to have a number of negative health and behavioral effects. Loud car stereos most obviously affect the car occupants' hearing. Noise from a variety of sources, including loud car stereos, can cause hearing loss, disturb sleep, increase stress, make people irritable, and make naturally aggressive people more aggressive.
that would explain alot

for the most part.. most people (around my area anyway) are pretty responsible. as justin said, turning your system down in residential areas and keeping it down after 10pm is definately a good way to keep residents and the cops off your back. people sitting at traffic lights with their system pounding away is IMO inconsiderate. personally i dont think cranking my system while i'm behind people at a traffic light is going to get me much respect or positive recognition.. there are times to show off, but usually busy traffic isn't the best place? these reports are all the same, although it seems a bit more sensible than the infamous "boom car" report - which went into detail about how driving by people with your stereo blasting can make it hard for people to breathe, etc.. which is a bit ridiculous. maybe if these people were inside the car.. but whatever. these things always blow things out of proportion. are there really cities where drug dealers play their systems to attract business? we would consider that a hardcore "heat score" where i'm from lol.

these reports "should" be taken with a grain of salt.. or whatever the saying is.

just my 2cents!

"In some jurisdictions, drug dealers advertise by cruising Cruising
Driving at a slow speed with the primary purpose of watching people on the side of the road and in other cars, or making oneself visible to those people. Usually considered an activity of teenagers neighborhoods with the car stereo turned up loud. "

yeah thats not biased at all. guess were all drug dealers.

I'll believe that when someone comes up to my car and tries to buy crack..... Playing a lound stereo would be the last thing I'd do if I was conductiing some highly illegal business
