ok i went to Auto Zone to get my car scanned for the CEL that recently came on. The guy is pluggin the scan tool in and it wont turn on...he tried many times..nothing...he said that i may have blown a fuse which controls that...So i come home and looking in teh fuses i dont really see anything refering to diagnostics and i checked all the fuses that i didnt understand what that could be or sumthing that may contain it...those were fine..I did notice in the fuse box in the engine bay there was a fuse labeled GEN but there was no fuse in there...is there supposed to be and what does GEN stand for? Also does anyone kno what fuse could be the one that is the diagnostic port? maybe a relay?
also im gonna be honest...no i didnt search
but i didnt think it would come up with anything
Thanks man, i did look and see that the fuse was blown..i did use a cassete adapter at one time so that probably blew it..
ok so im goin to bring this post wwwaaayyy back from the dead. Im having the same problem but none of my fuses are blown and my Cig lighter works fine. Any clue to what might be wrong?
Do you have the ignition turned on? That's a must to communicate with the PCM. It doesn't need to be running... just on.
