Monday, June 13, 2005 12:20 PM
my 2001 sunfire came with the upgraded radio... I already have a deck installed, subs and amp are going in next month.
but i want to put some compentents in. I have small tweets in the door pods of the sunfire, and was wondering if anyone used those pods for the new tweets?

system will be
pioneer p8mp deck (maybe a new alipine, but i liek it)
2 12" infinity vqs
memhpis audio memphis bell 1300d 5 channel amp.

front speakers no picked out yet.

Definitely man...why drill holes in your door like I had to do..that's what they are there for. Throw a nice set of 6.5 comps in there. That tweet pod is in the right place to keep your components the correct distance from each other. Why else would GM put em there UZZZZE DEEEM

yeah, the old ones pop right out, then epoxy the new ones in. i cant remeber the size but if you need to know i'll check tonight. careful witht teh "nuts" to get the tweeter pod off, i broke three of them on the passenger side.

ya if you can easily get the size that be great. I was hoping i could use them, will make for a very nice clean install with less work. by sub boxes are going to take enough as it is.

Thanks guys for the uber quick response :-)

i'd pop your door panel off, remove the speaker grill and tweeter and take it to the store with you when u go looking that way u can find sets that will work with the opening because its not that big really.

I used them with my new infinity speakers in the doors. All i did was cut the wires, and re solder them on to the correct terminals on my new speakers. They work.

well i got a set of JL components. the tweeters i got were .75"(19mm) and they fill the tweeter whole and look very nice. you may be able to go with half inch though, but check first.
