i recently bought a panasonic headunit w/7 screen and dvd player. the only way i can get
a dvd to play is if i attach a wire to the e-brake. which wire is it? is there another wire i can attach it to so it will come on when i drive. i was thinking maybe an ignition wire.
can anyone help me out? thanks

if you connect it to the e brake wire the dvd player wont work until car is off and in park. theres ways around this... try searching.

You could wire it to the light on the dash that comes on when the e-brake is on?

Cant you just connect your e-brake wire which is a light green/grass color to the ground wire. This is what I did and it works.

just ground the wire. that's all you need to do.

look in the manuel..whichever wire on the harness needs to be connected to the e-brake. connect it to ground instead.

It needs to be connected to ur ebrake as a saftey feature so it can only be used while in park. But what everyone is saying is right, ground it, and it will work. If not, try a hot 12v source. BUT DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT. try ground first.
