Possible to fix? Sub

So yesterday as I was cleaning my car up i pop my trunk to see my 2 12" Aluminum eclipses in the trunk. On one of the subs, i see some polyfiber filling(which the box is stuffed with) on the speaker between the cone and the rubber part on the edge. A little shocked, when I got closer, I found that the cone tore off from the rubber. I say to myself, no wonder it hasnt sounded like normal lately.

Is it possible to just seal it back up with some glue, I dont htink the sub is blown, outside of it just being disconnected. I have had them a while so I am sure the heat wore down the glue a litte bit.

if i can replace voice coils, you can definatly fix that. i've seen repaired subs that sound exactly the same. sadly, i wouldntk now how to fix that, but i know its do-able.

Get some industrial strength epoxy from lowe's, run a bead along where the rubber connects to the basket, press and hold it down. That is how the sub manufactureers do it ;] Only they have a special kind of glue, but epoxy works just as good.

glad to hear, i have had them forever since the year they came out, and have pushed them, running a bd1000a1 on them right now and they still want more power, I think its just old age + the heat recently. Thanks for the input guys.

contact cement

silicone sealant

liquid nails.

nail polish

anything like that will work to seal up a tear in a surround.

used some epoxy i got at walmart, came with 2 tips that mix it as u use it. Held up well, i need to pull them both and do it on the back side as well, but it for sure fixed it, that crap held like no other, almost glued my fingers together too on accident, it set up rather quickly
