rear deck speakers... few questions

Well, checked FedEx and my Infinity 6002i's and 6000cs's should be arriving tomorrow

I was investigating the setup on my rear deck in my 2000 'Fire coupe and few questions came to my attention. I plan to cut a hole in the carpet and install the 6002i's (6.5") top mount. I know you may think it's gonna make me bait for theft, but I've already got a satellite radio antenna on the roof... plus right or wrong, I'm a believer that carpetting muffles out the highs... exactly what impresses me with Infinity.... anyway, on to the questions.

1) How the freak do you get the factory 6x9's out?! The metal below the speaker appears too small of a hole to squeeze through, and seems like a project to lift the entire panel on the rear deck to lift them out from the top. I'm hoping there's an easy way without mutilating the factory 6x9's?

2) Seems like where the factory hole in the metal is, there's gonna be a conflict with a top mount install, in that the grills(and speaker) diameter is gonna hit those two side seat belt hook thingies in the rear deck. I'm thinking the easiest solution is to dremel the metal holes towards the front of the car to allow installation up a little further... sound reasonable? (This may be my solution to question 1, too!)

3) Should I put some kind of support betweeen the metal frame and the cardboard/carpet to better support the weight of the speakers? If so, what material should I use in there? I was thinking some kind of styrofome as it's slightly conformable and won't rattle.

4) For all 4 speakers(minus the 6000cs tweets), I was gonna look around Lowes or HD for some kind of rubber sheeting or similar to seal off the back of the woofers. Is this a good, bad, or retarded thought? Basic thought is to seal it off from the door and trunk to increase bass response.

Sorry that was so long.... but any response to any questions is a help, thanks!

1) they WILL be stolen. i have a sat antenna too, but there are things you can do about it to hide it. child seat anchors, under the spoiler (if you dont have metallic paint) etc. plus, sat radio dont mean you have a system, it could mean you have a 99 dollar plug and play from radioshack.

2) carpeting does NOT muffle the sound. the wood does, however. cut the wood, leave the carpet. best of both worlds.

3)you can cut the holes any way you like, but if you've got subs, dynamat that beeyotch. itll help. also, watch out for any sway bars/strut bars/trunk equipment before you cut, make sure your speaker basket wont hit anything, you'll be pissed you spent all that time cutting. also, if your gonna use a dremel, have a friend point a vaccuum right next to it, this way there is no dust all over the frickin place, TRUST ME!! its a pain to clean out.

4)i built mdf rings out of 3/4"...supports the speakers just fine.

5) there are plastic baffles, i picked em up from pep boys, metra makes em. or you could fashin your own out of fiberglass or MDF or the like. it helps for low-end response if you seal it off.

dont worry about asking too many questions. they are NOT stupid, so NOBODY will flame you for it. good luck with the projects!!
