OK, this may be some stupid questions... I tried searching, sand didn't find anything, so hear it goes...
I have an '04 Sunfire. I'm planning on putting a set of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.'s in Q-logic Kick Panels. Now I had a friend's brother tell about a few problems with this set up. He does stereo install's for Circuit City and not the brightest bulb in the pack, so I'm taking what he says with a grain of salt.
Now he's said that because of how deep the woofer is, it may not fit. Even with the kicker panel.
Also, he said that because of how thin the kicPanelsls are, if the woofer does fit, it may cause the kick panel to sag. To fix that he said to put a few layers of Fiberglass on the back before I cut the panel to fit the speaker.
Now I doubt I'm the 1st person to try to put 6.1's on kicker Panels on a 3rd gen J, so does anyone have any experience with this set up, or know if this guy is just a moron?
The q logic kickpanals arent even sealed, which sux.
If you cant mount the in back, then drop them in from the front . Might give you some clearance if you need it. But i do suggest reinforcing it with fiberglass.
Those kick panals are cheaply made.

he is right about putting a couple layers in the back, it helps with sound quality. they should fit fine, you will prob have to cut the panel to make it fit the 6.5" tho...not cuz its an infinity, its the way the pods are made. UP TO 6.5" means they have to have it accomodate smaller speakers, then you can cut this inner ring peice to make the 6.5" ones fit. just mount the speakers, then mount the pods. once you get it all up and running, then glass the back. not difficult!

Well, I think i will f/g the back of the panels just to get me some experience in F/G. I eventually want to put 2 kappa perfect 10.1's in the trunk in a custom F/G enclosure, so I figgure something this simple would be good for a learning experience.
as far as clearence, I don't thin that would be a problem... i had the driver side kick pannel off earlier today to adjust the sensitivy on my alarm, and it looks like I will jus thave to cut some carpit. No big deal
none the less, thanks guys

, anyone else can add their 2 cents if they want, my ears are still open
the Q logic is made for 5.25
