Using Speaker-Level Inputs...
Wednesday, June 01, 2005 12:09 AM
I've never used this way to hook up an amp... the last time i hooked up an amp to a stock deck I had an rca adapter that you connected at the deck... never knew about the speaker-level inputs method... that was years ago... since then it's been aftermarket decks that have rca outputs obviously...

neways, my girlfriend wants to add an amp and sub in her car but she want to keep the stock deck... so I was wondering if anyone has used this method and if they have any tips... do i have to tap into both rear speakers using two input channels or can i just use one input channel with one speaker??? what type of wire did you use to tap??? I've read that this method doesn't affect the performance of your speakers but i find that hard to believe... any info would help...

thanks,
Geoff

nevermind... i asked my friend who went to school for this stuff... for those of you who are wondering as well though, this method is good if ur planning to keep the stock deck that doesn't have rca outputs... tap into both rear speakers and connect them to two speaker input channels on the amp...

lates,
Geoff
