stock Radio question
Sunday, May 22, 2005 1:33 PM
wasn't really sure where to put this. anyways
at night when my lights are on, some of my radio does not light up. like the 1 thru 6 buttons. only the 3 and the 6 are lighting up and there are few others that are not lighting up too. so i was wondering, is it easy to replace those bulbs back there? or would it be more cost effctive to have an after market head unit put in?

They're just LEDs, so if you're up to the challenge it would cost a few dollars.
Though if you're thinking about moving up to a new HU, don't bother.

its cheaper to get an aftermarket one by far plus you will enjoy the better sound

They are a BITCH to open. And they're not LEDs.. they're little bulbs that are soldered to the circuit board.

I used to buy stock decks from the wreckers and sell them on Ebay... assuming all the lights worked, they'd go for around $150!!!

One guy bought one and when it was shipped the box was beat to hell... the 1/4 light didn't work anymore.. so I refunded him $75 and he paid that same amount to a tech to replace the one light bulb. Yow.
