relocating hvac

I want to relocate my hvac and put it in my center console. Can I just extend the wires and mount in there? Then I want to put my new head unit where the hvac was. Will it fit? It's a single din head unit. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

i'm in the process of doing the same thing.

The first thing your going to need to do is either figure out a way to create the same ends your hvac uses on the climate control knobs cable actuator, myself i'm using another factory cable and making a custom peice to connect the 2 ends together, if you want i can take pictures of the ends so you can see what your workin with.

Next you need to invest in shrink tubing and a good soldering iron and good solder, now pick up several feet of wire, i prefer to use the same color as factory if i can find it so its easier to reattach later but not always an option, mark the wires as best you can and PLEASE use the same gauge wire otherwise your creating a fire hazard, run all your wires thru some kind of sheilding, there are alot of vibrating and moving parts in these areas, shrink tube all connections, solder all wiring connections otherwise you'll create more headaches later on, as for fitting i've had my hvac out and there should be plenty of space behind the hvac if not just trim the dash, theres not much to the plastic in there so it should be pretty easy, wiring can be alot of fun if you take your time with it and think your projects thru alittle, for my next trick i'm gonna take a sony wireless remote for my stereo and mold it into my armrest i'm gonna have lots of pics to post after this weekend hopefully.
