OK, I searched and couldn't find anything......how do you wire up TV's in a car so that they will play while your driving, I'm not doing it right now, but I am just curious, because I know most of them will not work unless the car is parked. How can you get them to work while your driving?
well wire it to your dvd player and push play ive never heard of cars tv's not working when its in drive lol..
^^ Agreed. Because the only place a stock TV would be is in the back, which is where they are intended to be on while the car is moving.

a lot of In-Dash TVs are designed to be hooked to the parking brake before they'll work, but a lot of them can be bypassed somehow, though it's not legal to have a movie in view of the driver while in motion. BUT other ones, like, just a screen and DVD player, would have no such hookup required. So it depends on what kinda system you are looking at getting.
ok, I will give u an example......hopefully this clears it up a bit......my buddy drives a 2000 Dodge Durango, he has an In Dash TV, I hooked it up, and there was a wire that said "hook up to the parking brake" I just wired that up to the groud. Works like a charm, the screen works fine while the car is in motion. But, he now wants to add 2 more TV's, I am just curious if I will need to do a wiring trick on these TV monitors too, or if they will work just fine.
The other question is, I will be getting a new CD Player sometime in the near future, and it is DVD capable, but does not have a screen (I don't like Fold Up Monitors) if I hook this Head Unit up like normal, then hook a monitor up to it, am I going to be able to play a movie while driving? Or is there going to be a wiring trick I will need to do?
I talked to my manager about this (he worked at Circuit City installing car stereo's) according to him the only way to bypass this is to ground out the monitors to the Brake Line, because it is the only constant ground. This sounded very odd to me, but I am inclined to believe him because he has been right on every other question I ask him about car stereo's.
any piece of metal in your car will give u a constant ground for the most part.
the only screens i know of that have the emergency brake type wire, are indash units, you shouldnt have any problems on any other sort of screen. and by the way since you c.c. guy told you about the bypass, u can now sue them if you ever kill someone while driving or get in an accident or whatever. not to smart on his part to tell you that.

Right. Your mgr is wrong about the ground requirements for the monitors. They just ground like any other piece of equipment. Though you may need to get a Video Distribution Amp for three screens. Some people have had to (basically it boosts the video signal to compensate for any signal loss by splitting the signal that many times). Your new deck shouldn't need any parking brake bypass, as Jason said above. If you get it, and it has the wire, then you'll have to. But you probably won't.
okay guys.....thanks a lot, this is a way off, prolly not til the end of the summer, but I figured I would get this out of the way before I actually started doing it......I will only be running 2 screens.
okay, I got another question......will I need any special equipment to have the sound of a DVD come out throught my car speakers.....the monitors I have been looking at, don't have speakers so I didn't think I would.....but just figure I would throw it out there
