Hey hows it goin
I just baught a new system for my car got 2 12inch JL w1v2s and a JL amp they pound but I got alot of rattle noise from my trunk and in general the whole rear section, does anyone else have this problem and how can I fix it?
BTW: I baught some sound dampining material from the car audio place they said it would help but not kill it...
I have them rattles too, i tried to fix it cheap, but since i cant hear them inside, only from standing outside, i said the hell with it and left it be.
I turned my subs way down and boost down to 1 and freq is almost off cause I could hear all the rattle maybe some new 6x9's will fix it
Somone said to use instafoam but I think it would look trashy :O
one rattle might be the cabin pressure vents on the right side of the trunk behind the carpet.........just tape it down and stab some holes in the flaps and thats one rattle solved
welcome to owning a econsh!t box. i have to layers of sound dampning and i still get rattles
your rear end of your car is gonna rattle. you can't get rid of it completely because the bumper and all of that is all plastic and full of voids.
all you can do is lessen it, i doubt you'll get rid of every single thing

kool well thanks for the input
i put three layers on almost all of my car, and the bass at around 138db's is not very noticable outside the car and nor does it rattle on the outside. this is an extreme case though.
for you i'd just go to an empty area where you wont annoy anyone, turn the bass up a bit and start finding your rattles 1 by 1. allot of times if its the metal rattling youlle need some sort of damping sheet, but if its plastic panesl or your liscence plate(common rattle zone) it can be fixed with some cheap foam placed between the panel and whatever its rattling against.

nice, I turned it up yesterday and went aroudn back and it seemed like my bumper itself was lot of the rattle :O
I found that my 05 has the same bumper rattle. any idea how to fix it??
Donovan
get that expandable spray in foam and spray it underneath your bumper where it sits on anything and anything that might possibly rattle spray. ( just an idea ive never tried it )

Interesting how loud noises make things rattlle... never woulda thunk it.
Expandaing foam is a no-no. It can force peices apart, get places u dont want it, and it deteriorates over time anyways.
