Well I bought this sound system basically because I am getting tired of having no bump... I have been with out my 4 Kickers and 2 Cadence and 2 Kicker Amps for about.... I dunno 3 months, basically because I had to sale it quick to pay off some bills... But anyways I have just recently went to best buy, and home depot...
I built me a box from Home Depot, got alot of the stuff from their... and I dunno, but everyone who has been in my car say this is the louder than my kickers which to me is amazing.. But I also hear the diffrence...
Anyway, I bought 2 Pioneer 12's a brand I am not fond of at all, but strapped in money have to deal with it... It gets worst ahead, I went to a pawn shop, they had new Legacy 1000 watt amps in boxes, dunno if they were refurbished or not but they had plastic covering over them, still being in a bind, I only had 120$ to spare so I bought it... Now, for these two brands I was expecting the less, but I swear people can hear me from way way down their, this bass is so... that I had to turn my bass down because in my throat it made me feel like I was gagging and fixing to throw up... I dunno, probably going to get bashed, but I just don't understand what is going on here, I always thought of Legacy as a rip off trashy brand, and now I am marking out for it... I loved my Cadence Amps and my Kicker Amps, but this amp is producing more power and I am loving it...

pioneer 12"s hit pretty hard i knew a guy with 1 of them in an extended cab ford ranger and u could hear him coming from a ways off. I never heard of legacy amps.

A lot has to do with what the box is made of and how it is made.
Yeah, it is mostly the box....you may have the speakers wired to the amp better as well. Were they bridged or split on the last amp? Is this amp stronger than the previous amp? Do you have a larger subwoofer box? All of these factors can allot for a louder deeper sound. I had 2 10" pioneers before I got my 12" audiobahns, and they beat just as loud until i switched up boxes and wiring.
even the best subs in the world can sound bad in an improperly built box. there are tons of reasons why you other equipment wasnt playing to its ulitimate potential. when i first got into audio i had a pair of 15's in a box, after a while i was just fooling around with a pair of 10" jensons i had laying around and i build a box that had them hitting harder them my 15" rockfords. box design plays a huge factor in the outcome of the sound. not even getting into maybe u had a sub wired out of phase with the others, cancelling out allot of your bass as well. or a million other factors. its probably not an issue of the legacy and pioneer being better, but of your other system not playing up to its capabilities.

I have the Legacy Red 1000w amp, and bought it for the same reason, cuz I was low on cash. I had it hooked up to 2 15" Fosquates and it would lay my rear view mirror down. I ended up selling the Fosquates, and now have a Kicker Comp 12" hooked up to the same amp.
That one 12" sounds really good on that amp, granted it doesn't have the thump as the 15's, but it sounds about as clear as any other system I've heard.
Just be careful about distortion, cuz that amp will do it easily.

still havnt proved how they dont hit. installation is everything, maybe the installation in her car was sub par so they sounded bad.

i run pioneer exclusively, have since the day i started making stereos. yeah mine aren't the ones pictured above but every speakeri have had of theirs has played hard and lasted a long time.

IF you would have read my registry (Which people who arent n00bs do) u woulda found that they are actually painted stock inner tailights with altezza style outers. And CF 3rd brake light?
