ok so for the past 6 months i have been running my 15 in a 6ft @ 35hz well the back board has a split in it which has been getting worse so i think its time for a rebulid and im toren between 2 options keeping the 6ft or going with a 4ft @ 30hz sq box. I listen to mostly rock, heavy meatal and rap ( i know what a combo). my qustion is how much diffrecne will there between the 2 boxs for the music i listen to?
The bigger box will help you reach full excursion and potential with less power. the smaller one will require more power. I believe it will also have less of an impedence rise. (Not sure). You still got the t3001 right? You have more than enough power on tap for the XXX. I'd run the smaller box.
yeha i still have it but im considering steping down espical if college money is going to short this year
with a XXX you should be ok and still sound nice with a smaller box. if it were a SX then i might say no.
for the 15...RE actually recommends 4 ft. so you should be good (unlike a lot of people..they actually test out their recomendations)
i wouldn't go as far to call 4@30 an SQ box....lol

just go with 4 cubes your be happy, im thinking about going with 4 sx 12's in 9 cubes or 2 XXX 15's tuned to 33hz
