Hey guys,
I think I've narrowed my stereo problem down to this. Whenever my remotre wire for my amps touches any large metal surface (car chassis) the amp turns its self on. I am completely stumped as to what is the problem... Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
Kyle
your wires should not be bare...or touching metal.
if your remote wire grounds out....(touches metal) then you'll fry your remote output on your deck..and your amp wouldn't turn on.

yah I should of explained myself better. This is happenening when i have the remote wire in my hand and I touch the remote turn on coming from the deck. I have ran a new wire and it's still doing this.
ie. I will have the remote connected to deck and run it to the amp. amp turns on even tho I have key in hand.
Also another problem i encountered. When I have my ground for the deck(ran a new one) in my hand not attached to anything, the deck will turn on. This only happens when I have the rca's connected to my amp. once I disconnected the rca's the deck shuts off. Thanks for any help!
I'm lost.
hmm... i vote ur car is possessed?
never in my life have i heard of a problem like this. although... it could be a problem with your deck? if your deck is on... then it is possible that that is what is making your amp turn on.
as for your deck just randomly turning on like that... i have no idea. try keeping your deck GROUNDED. that should take care of the problem. and if for some reason u need to unground your deck, then make sure that you un-attach the rca cables from the amp so that there is no power running anywhere. if you dont and u power it too often like that... u do run the possibility of screwing up your amp.
your remote wire has a constant +12 for some reason then....

Lol i had an odd problem, my radio would stay on after the car's key was out of the ignition, my friends thought it was great, then we found out u can turn it on if u turned only one of my neons on (huh?!?lol) We later found out in my ghetto wiring that i have done, for the neons, to the radio fuse a single piece of wire touched both parts of the fuse
i had a problem like that..radio stayin on. I just detatched the face. Re-attaching it would turn it back on. The i realized my power wire was touching the remote wire...or atleast i remember it being the remote. Maybe it was the ground
lol wtf ppl... get ur wires str8 and keep the apart from one another!!!!!!!
yah i think i had some wires touching each other when they shouldn't of been....either way it's fixed now and sounds good! thanks for the input...
ok. SOLDER and HEATSHRINK your wires...dont SPLICE and TAPE!! newbie mistakes can be avoided this way!!
