Really makes no differance since I could call the store and have them ship it to me or something . . .

Problem with the N2 is that you can not watch DVDs and drive @ the same time... the DVD is tied in with the GPS / Nav system and there is no way you can bypass it (from what I have been reading on forums and such)

Unless you know of a forsure way to bypass it please let me know . . . also how much?

THanks.!!!!

Good luck with that. I doubt you will find a store willing to risk losing Pioneer over shipping something to someone they don't even know.

If I pay for an item and pay the store for shipping why should they not be able to ship it to me?

Because when you sign up with a company, you sign a contract. In that contract is a section on transshipping, or some make you sign another contract. Basically it states that you won't ship outside of your area. It's a way for companies to protect their dealers.

Otherwise what would stop a dealer from doing it all the time? You may as well have an internet store in that case.

What about internet companies who sell all over the place? Such as crutchfield.com or sounddomain.com or so on?

Sorry I dont know much about audio so I really have no clue how they work . . but thanks for the heads up . . .

Other then those two, most of the ones you see aren't authorized to sell. Some will say they are, but even then, most aren't.

It's all good. Don't let me stop you from trying to find a dealer. Just trying to let you know it might not be as easy as it seems.

There are a lot of places that will take phone orders via credit card, but they will call your credit card company and verify the address on file with the CC company, and they will usually ONLY ship to THAT address. Aside from that, it's all about the search engines lol.

How so? According to everyone I have talked to and every post I have read on forums you can not watch dvds and drive @ the same time with the N2 . . .

correction, 3 ways.
1. take the video out and plug it into the rearview camera in. downside - you get the message about objects being closer...
2. you need to know someone that works at a pioneer service center. apparently, there is a way to "reprogram" from the unit's screen itself.
3. "accidentaly" slip in a navigation disk from the avic-n1 (version 1.1 or 1.2 only)

a sidenote, upgrading the avic-n1 to version 1.3 will enable the gyroscope saftety feature as well from what i have heard.

You're nucking futs if you buy it for $1,630

I spent $1379 (brand new) for my AVIC-N1 shipped from Orange County, CA.

I've seen them at Fry's for $1499.

I really hope you didn't buy it already.

my boyfriend drives an si hatch and bought an avic a few months ago. we've been dealing with a place about 45 minutes from our house.. The shop is called Eagle Electronics in Vineland,NJ. to have it installed there costs 2,000 but if u were just to buy it and not have them install;the price drops down some.. u can watch dvds while ur driving, if i remember correctly; the owner said u have to ground the one wire that deals with the dvd part(im not sure which one) and it will allow u to drive while watching dvds...we've been watching movies ever since he's done that and it works great!

best buy sells them online, or you can try one of their stores around you. This is assuming that there is a best buy around you. By the way I installed one of these and it is an absolutely beautiful peice of machinery.

Yea pretty much. That's the difference between the AVIC-N1 and the AVIC-N2. The N1 doesn't allow you to watch movies unless the e-brake is pulled up or you are in park. All you simply have to do is ground the wire that goes from the brain of the N1 to the e-brake cable, and you're good to go.

The N2 is a little bit trickier though. The N2 also has that same thing, with the wire running to the e-brake cable, however, their is another wire that goes to the speed sensor wire (to determine how fast you're travelling, it helps with the navigation) and if the software realizes that you are moving, it automatically disengages any video. I'm sure there are ways around it, and sooner or later there will be a hack for it, its just fairly new so no one has really tried anything yet.

That's not bypassing, that's just finding another way to get video to show up on the screen while driving. I'm talking about bypassing just like you can bypass the n-1.
