Leaky Lines

What do you guys use to seal your nitrous lines to keep them from leaking. I know I read somewhere that regular plumbers tape is a bad idea. Should I just get any of that liquid stuff or is there a special brand I should buy?

Can someone please recommend something I would be able to find at a part or hardware store. If you know where to get it also that would help. Thanks

Hmm, I didn't know that would work. I'll try that. I already have some too. Thanks a bunch. Yea Teflon tape is what I was talking about (aka plumbers tape) but I thought I read somewhere you shouldn't use that. I guess i'll try either or. Thanks guys.

I used teflon tape. No issues here.

I used the tape, too--put it on there last summer and haven't had a problem since. I definitely wouldn't use thread locker, though.

the red stuff is impossible, but the blue comes off... just need a wrench to initially break the seal.

It's not BAD, persay--just a little overkill. Especially when you're dealing with solenoids that could possibly suck little bits of it in. I would use the tape next time, man--you won't be disappointed

Tape can chunk off too. I worked in the industrial gas industry for years and we never used tape for that reason. Especially on the fuel side, DON"T use tape. 100 people may use it and get away with it, but you may be the one who gets a plugged fuel solenoid and blows a hole in your piston.

Use Teflone paste it seals up to 10,000 psi but it's not hard to take off either.

Everyone will always have their own opinion, without a doubt. But personally, I would be hesitant to use anything but tape on delicate (and expensive) nitrous solenoids.
