i think you will be ok with a 50 shot.
as far as gauges, id get feul pressure gauge, Exhast gas temp gauge, oil pressure or a combo of those 3 or all 3. there is a Group Purchase going on for Stewart Warner gauges here on the Org. just click on the group purchase forum. and diffently get your plugs. you can get those at an auto parts store
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
bottle heater always helps. Just get the GENXII kit from NX. also a remote opener comes in handy when the bottle is in the trunk.

yeah i thought bout gettin that but then again i might just put it behind my seat
Not sure what all you have on the setup, but here are a few hints if u dont have them
fuel pressure is a good gauge to have
rpm window switch - so u only spray during a certain range
fuel pressure safety switch
a second solenoid to protect vs one not working
bottle heater/purge kit - gen x 2 upgrade covers these
colder plugs as you said
if you thnk about upping it ever look into something to retard timing - msd dis2 ignition in particular
yeah in time that will come, but all i need right now is the plugs, a/f and oil pressure gauge, im only sprayin a couple times as for 1/8th and 1/4 mile, i adventually will get the fuel rail, inline fuel pump. and definetly a purge kit, i was thinkin when i got my carbon fiber invador hood, make the purge come out the scoop in the hood
save your cash on the fuel rail. theres no need. the stock rail is plenty large enough to support much more horsepower than you or
almost anyone on here will achieve.
as far as running a 50 shot safely ----
you would want to get colder plugs, WOT switch and run 93 octane (92 if you do not have access).
other things you might want to do
fuel pressure saftey switch
bottle heater
rpm window switch
extra seliniod incase one fails
tips - check your plugs and fuel pressure as much as possible
I have run a 75 shot with nothing but colder plugs and 93 octane and have yet run into any major issues -- good luck
