Just wanted to get some feedback from people using nitrous. Is it worth it? I have an 04' Cav 4 door. It is my every day car. I want to get a little more out of it when needed but I do not want to blow it up either. Will the NOS work with the stock computer? I am new to the nitrous seen but it seems that it is the only way to get cheap but good horsepower gains. Any info would help me out. Thanks.

yes. you can spend $1500 on your bolt on parts like header , exhaust, intake etc etc and only get 25 hp if that. for around $500 to $600 dollars you can have any where between 35 to 100 hp at a push of a button.

yes, it will work with stock computer
just to let you know and to save you from some flamage. NOS is a brand of nitrous. when refering to nitrous, say nitrous not NOS.
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

Hell Yes it's worth it. I love it and wish I would have done it sooner. Dyno without nitrous 157hp 161 torque, With nitrous 229hp 293 torque.

yeah its worth it, i have a 50 shot setup, and all i got was plugs and i can run it with no problems
hmmm nitrous......
i'm running it on my 2nd gen (50 shot dry), and i love it, and it loves it lol
Cheapest power available probably
the people who seem to have the most problems and complain are the ones who try to skip out on stuff and not do it propelry the first time, you can do a 35 or 50 shot pretty safely with minor mods, get up to 75 and you are looking at adding a little more.
Do your research, do it right, and enjoy it. $ for $ its the top way to add hp.
never done anything better
yeah with only a 50 shot, you will notice a big difference. use it wisely
What would you recommend that one does before one sets up and 35-50 shot on a 2200?
be carefull.........thats all im saying....nitrous is nitrous......if ur a rookie with it, its very easy to do major damage....whatever u do....dont rush into it......do your research like he said.....good luck bud.....
A 50 shot sounds like fun. What is the best kit, dry or wet? Dry to me sounds better but then again I have never used nitrous before.
wet is better IMO. a wet kit adds the n20 and also adds feul too

^^ just pray that you dont get a nitrous backfire

true, but there are way to help prevent that
and with a dry kit, you run the chance of getting to lean and yourengine going KA-BOOM!

add up all the bolt ons you have then multiple that by the est HP gain from those parts... thatll give you how much you paid per horse for the bolt ons now do the sme thing with 50-200HP shot of nitro for $500...and see what you get from that... then again you dont have to refill bolt ons... :-)

true but only if you go above 55 shot without fuel mods. if got a stronger fuel pump and a adj. fuel press. reg. i think you could run a 75 shot with out leaning out.

not true at all -- but on a side note MOST of the time the intake will blow off or worse case senerio you blow up your intake mani
It has only happened to me once in 35 bottles and my intake blew off. nothing to worry about too much
so what do u guys suggest for a motor with bout 60,000 miles on it....anything i should do before i spray

i have 85000 miles on my car. but i think NX and Zex are the most popular choices
just make sure you have the right plugs, and high octane gas. like 92 octane

I'm experienced with a lot of stuff, but nitrous is not. I got a 03 Cav LS coupe.
1) How much am I looking for a very entry level kit??
2) How long lasts a bottle?
3) How much does it cost to get it reffiled?
4)Its my daily driver, and it's not a lease. I drive close to 50,000km per year, mainly highway. Am I shortening the life of my engine drastically??
5) If any problem occurs, any way to just remove the kit before taking it to the dealership? I still have another 40,000km of engine & tranny warranty left.
Thanks
Sorry if these sounds like newbie questions, but they are, and I believe that what keeps a forum alive is POSTING, not SEARCHING !
Thanks,

Defenetly NOT worth it, yes it is cheaper to buy it but in the long run you gotta just keep filling that bottle and if you like to race alot that will cost you well over 1500$ in a couple of months if your really in need of a little power boost, BOOST never hurts, just go turbo there is not alot of work to do and it's always nice to hear that blow off valve
