Just one quick Question on nitrous
Tuesday, March 21, 2006 9:21 PM
Im planning on throwing forged 10:5:1 pistons and rods in my 99 z24, i then want to put a wet kit in after, with the forged pistons will it handle 100shot safely???

Ive been told that a stock z24 can handle at the most a wet 75 shot

please if anyone can answer it would be very helpful

Yes it should handle but I think the next thing you need to worry about is fuel delivery. You might want to think about slightly bigger injectors and better fuel pump (whether it's intake or inline).

Also, with high compression pistons and 100+ shot, timing might become an issue...look into that as well.

I've seen people run up to 100 shot on the 2.4 with no retarding of timing but if you could do it, it would help.

Its all about tunning. You can blow your stuff up on a 50 shot or be just fine on a 100 shot. Tunning is the key. Run a 35 shot and get everything running perfect. Then keep stepping up. Dont just drop the 100 shot in there and figure because you have forged internals you're set. NJHK is right, you may want to think about fuel and spark. A MSD Ign. system would sure help a lot. Along with a better fuel pump.

Hurmm i hear that with the Hp Tunners Soft ware you dont have to have MSD to Retard the timing... sounds good to me they are about the same price and you can do alot more with the software !
