whats up, im putting a zex wet kit on my 04 cav and wanted to know where the test valve is so i can just tap my fuel line right from there, any pics would be great, thanks.
have you ever opened your hood????
seriously, follow the hard fuel lines off the fuel rail and you'll see a black cap
take the black cap off and there's a schreader (sp?) valve and you have to remove that, and you'll have your tap for fuel
Yeah you have to remove the valve. Its the same type as whats in your wheels
that is the best picture I could find

from what i've read.... and someone correct me if i'm wrong
you run the car, pull the fuse for the fuel pump, fuel in lines will go until car sputters and stops, in turn you put the fuse back in, pull the schraeder valve out with a removal tool (can be bought at any autozone type place) and this is where i'm foggy.... i know there will be air in the lines but i would assume you just start your car like normal considering opening it at the engine side of the lines would be just the same as replacing a fuel filter......
have fun
Pulling the fuse may or may not remove the pressure from the lines. In my experience, it does not. You can pull the fuse (while the car is running), then let the car sit for a couple hours after it dies (turn the ignition off), and the fuel pressure should come down. There will always be fuel pressure in the lines so ALWAYS assume that the line is pressurized and fuel will come spraying out.
As for starting it back up, turn the key forward and listen to the pump run, when it stops running, then you should have positive pressure in the fuel lines and you can start the car. The first start might be a bit harder (takes a little longer to "catch"), but you will be fine after that.

Once the valve is removed, I understand that the fuel will then have a constant flow into the new line which in turn then goes to the fuel solenoid. Does the solenoid act as a pump then? Once the car is off, the fuel will not be pumped into the line and the solenoid any longer correct?
Now what if the car is running but the nitrous is not activated? Is there still fuel being pumped into the solenoid?
Thanks fellas.
the fuel solenoid does not act as a "pump." it simply closes off the fuel line going into the intake when the nitrous is not activated. yes, the solenoid will see the normal fuel pressure when not activated, but it will be closed so no fuel will pass through it unti the nitrous is activated and the solenoids open.
