what really toots my horn is you saying that this is a repost...
I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS POSTED.... EVER!
so how can it be a repost?????????????
if you're reffering to the fact that he posted it in the performance forum, that's called double posting. in which case, your wording was misunderstood and we'll call it a day.
yeah my bad.. i posted it here then i decided more people would notice it in the performance forum. this has been a long-debated and questioned topic, so i thought Id try to cover everyone with it. and, in exactly one week, i will have confirmation (by installing it) as to whether my diagram will work. i see no probs tho. if it turns out good..... all us ecos are going MSD!!!
maybe he posted it in two places because it is helpful in more then one forum

i wish that was the case... but i'll let him post what he's up to
well, the wiring and all that crap is going great. im having some problems though, but nothing i expected:
Problem #1: Not enough space for the dis-2 and coils under the hood. I can't mount the coils on my drivers side strut tower because my nitrous solenoid is mounted there. I can't mount the dis-2 on the firewall behind the engine because I'm going turbo and have no desire to melt my ighnition system.
Solution #1: I'm relocating the battery to the trunk, and mounting the DIS-2 in its place. This gives good access to the little screws on it for timing adjustment, etc. I need to buy some heavy gauge wiring and a battery box; I'll do it next weekend (I have school all during the week.)
Problem #2: I am a dumbass. There are torx screws in the ICM and coil housing. Somehow I forgot that I didn't have any torx head screwdrivers in my shop. I need to get in there for the pinouts and stuff from the ICM, so I was essentially screwed (yeah i tried an allen key but to no avail.)
Solution #2: I have a complete set of torx screwdrivers here in NYC, so next time I go up to my shop in vermont (hopefully next weekend) I'll just bring them and finish the install.
its a T15 for the idi cover btw
you can mount the dis2 in the passenger side fender well all you have to do to acess it is remove a headlight

T15... good to know... and maybe I'll try mounting it in the fender well... that might be alot easier than relocating my battery. is it still easy to adjust the dials when its there?
