I cant remember what the new version of photoshop is called but I still have Photoshop 5.5 installed on my computer...... is the new version more powerful or have more features / easier to use.... enough to make it worth going to the latest version?
I usually do simple things (as you can tell by my sigs) but Sometimes I like to get pretty extravagant and it gets time consuming with version 5.5 some times.
What do you Image manipulation and Photo freaks think is the One to go buy (I know there are several versions of the same current system).. btw.... I do quite a bit of photography also.
I have CS3. The newest version is CS4, it would be more than my computer could handle. Hell, the one I got is really too much for my computer lol. I was using 7 for the longest time until I finally upgraded to CS. It's definitely worth it. Of course, you probably wont do nearly as much as some do with it. I say go for it, 5.5 is pretty much ancient compared to the latest version. If you don't want to go the whole way and get the latest, I would say get at least CS2.

I use CS3 also, worth it to upgrade in my opinion!!

Btw..... I've got dual 2.53 ghz cpu's running on a wicked fast FSB and 3 gigs of ram so hopefully I'll be ok in the requirement department.
CS3 is good. CS4 is great.

alittle trick if no one knows it..its an easter egg try this go to help then about photoshop ...see what it looks like then hold ctrl go to help then about photoshop....its the code name for that version

to the CS4 users, how do you get the images to stop opening in tabs? Quite annoying when it was never that way for the past 10 years of using it...

Edit---Preferences---interface uncheck open documents as tabs
