I took some pics of my almost completed basement project, but some are coming out kinda yellowish, but with the ones with flash look better, but I dont want to use flash on all of them.

With flash - colors ok:


No flash - colors yucky:


How can I correct the yellowy ones? I don't have photoshop, but I have the gimp in unix, I just don't knwo what levels to fool with.

Have you tried adjusting the White Balance on your camera?

I don't think it has a white balance, but i'll check. Thanks.

Thanks, it's been one @!#$ of a 9 month project, but it's almost done. Have a few details to complete like the trimming the posts, windows to complete, then I'll pick up another HDTV for down there and relax and drink beer.

Few more pics, colours are photographing better now that I'm adjusting white balance, but some still look a bit goofy. The floor looks way too yellowy in these pics, but otherwise they are looking a lot better. I guess that's the nature of indoor lighting.

Glad to hear it all worked out for you man, that is certainly a lovely basement/games room indeed.

My favorite thing are the resessed lights in the lowered ceiling. Looks SICK! very nice basement. Is the floor a laminate tho? and are the posts unfinished? they look like it. other than that SICK! Id tip a few back down there!

Floor: is a handscraped looking laminate. Took a long time to find one I liked, I'm a picky bastard.

Posts: yep not finished yet, that's what I'm currently tackling.

Beer: Many pints have been consumed down there so far.

Very nice basement project.. I'm jealous. I've always wanted something like that.. but the fact we don't have basements down here kind of kills that plan. Looks great though!
