Ok.... so here's the quick run-down.
I am working with a local construction company that is going to be part of an "Extreme Builder, Home Makeover" show... and this guy is wanting a new logo done for all of the vehicle lettering we're going to do.
The problem is that my design skills are so-so... I am willing to pay the designer for his/her artwork if it is chosen. Payment will be around $50+ or so... possibly higher, depending on how good it is.
Needs to be done in Adobe Illustrator (ver. 9 preferred)
Make the logo have 2 or 3 colors in the layout
I don't have much for detail... but he wants something with carpentry involved in the layout... Saw blades, a home line-art, etc, etc.
This copy needs to be in the logo....

A couple other notes...
The vehicles this will be going on are basically all white. 1 white trailer, 2 white trucks, and 1 black truck.
So basically design the logo for use on white, but I can switch around the colors to work on the 1 black truck too.
This needs to have solid colors (no gradients) so it can be cut from vinyl.

why is this? photoshop should be able to do anything illustrator does

Vector is the key... When cutting anything out of vinyl, it needs to be line art... not gradients & pixelated edges.

tha_prowler - It still ends up being pixelated... and not being able to cut straight edges. Chris (thegreenmachine) and I tried this with your prowler logo a few weeks ago even. Didn't want to work.
streetdreamz - Thanks for the info... I thought about contacting him directly, but didn't want to wait for emails to go through, etc.
I ended up having to get someone locally to do it.

illustrator is vector based, photoshop is pixel based. you can create vector style images in photoshop although it will always use pixels to show it.
