nate its actually isnt that tough... i dont mess around with it much anymore, but i learned by just drawing a straight white line (black background) and then using the blur tool to spread/smear it around....

i made a post with some examples a LONG time ago...
GOTTA LOVE THAT SEARCH BUTTON!

looney tuner and dirty elf mention eye candy... havent heard or used it, but obviously works for them!
