i like the 2nd better...looks less like a smiling "kirby"
less air to your radiator, plus it makes it look like a drag car, but not as fast

Hopefully that works. Just an idea of how you can make it look. I tried to go with the look of a 95-99 Z bumper. Thats my first chop ever and I did it using paint so it might look a little rough
