What techniques are you using to create minis?

I kinda used something similar to this tutorial:

but use the elliptical selection tool to create the wheel letters, (thanks for the tip siegy), its much smoother, then smooth out the body with the eraser and or air brush. After you can do whatever you want, change rims, tint windows, shave handles.
