I work at Walmart, and i am a TLE Tech... /flex
This 97 or 8 Cav pulled in with this crazy sound and it wanted its oil changed, we all knew we couldn't do it, but we try to come up with an assumption why its doing it, to inform the customer why we cant do it...
Well we pop the hood and quite frankly... i have never came across this. I whipped out my IPhone just for you guys, to tell me what the heck this is!?
I asked the customer, and she had no idea what the sound was, or anything about the motor
it is an 2.2 by IMPCO.

Don't know what the sound is. But it's no Eco. It's a CNG 2.2 OHV.

Is that a normal motor???? we have alot of Cav's, and never seen one like that here at least...
nor has my shop manager, hes beet here 15 years, im sure hes seen one or 2, just cant remember maybe?
Eh, Not really a common motor. But not unheard of at all. Just uses natural gas. If you look in the trunk, There will be a huge spare tire looking cover. It goes over all the CNG stuff. That's what all the extra stuff is on the top of the motor too. I think they only were made from '00-'02..

They were made before 2000. I have found as early as '98.

That is exactly why my car(s) never go to a mechanic...or dealerships. Or anywhere involving other people driving them.
and what the hell is smash out? Sounds like something you might do in Mario cart.
On a side note, could be a pulley, or A/C compressor clutch.
I believe that is propane injection.
To me it sounds like a bad bearing for a pulley (idler, compressor, alternator, or water pump).

Just, Stomping on the gas...and/or accelerating in a nice turn. But you can press R or L and get the same effects...

Totally just there to strip oil pans, overfill oil, and make sure to burn up trannys/diffs
AND make sure i get payed doing it!

but honestly, i didn't peel the tires, i didn't want to make the motor sound worse.
All and all, i work hard... unlike some of my coworkers...
