Ive been all over craigslist looking for colorados, monte carlos, luminas, etc. and cant find a 3500 engine and tranny anywhere. Im gonna call a few junk yards tomorrow but other than that does anyone know where i can get ahold or a 3500 to put in my 2000 cav?

FYI, the 3.5 in the Colorado is not the one you're looking for. That's an inline 5 cylinder truck engine.

Getting one from an SV6 or Uplander gives you the chances of having to source out extra parts.
The Trans is just a Getrag from a 2200 Cav or Sunfire.
