Ive been having alot of electrical issues with my 96' Cavalier Z24, if i am correct the 96' model was recalled for electrical and im wondering if mine was and wasnt brought it to be fix. My first problem was the healights, the wiring to both headlights has been played with and 3/4 of the bulbs were burnt and i replace every single one. I turned the headlights on and now i have no power what so ever to the driver side headlight. My main concern how ever is the reverse lights and also my gauge cluster. I have told it may be the backup light switch or some refered it as the clutch safety switch. Any ideas of what i can do or should i attempted to readjust the backup light switch. Also my gauge cluster seems to flash as i play with the dimmer, its soild however when fully on. Anything below full brightness it flashes as you move the knob but is solid when left alone. This is my first car and im very proud of it being a Z24, it a 1996 Cavalier Z24 5 speed with only 140,000 km. My dad use to own a 97' Z24 and he drove the thing to the ground, the body gave out and was to far gone to be repaired. The car its self was at 280+++ and the motor was still strong after sitting a year and a half. Any ideas or help is greatly appricated.

If you click your bright headlights on, does the one on the driver side turn on and the one on the passenger side go out?

Sounds like a headlight switch to me, well atleast for your headlight issue.

If you turn your bright headlights on and it turns the bright on the driver side but not the pass side, it's due to a problem with the DRL module.
