If Erik is in fact correct on the 96-98 GA's using the 4t40e tranny, you want to use the ECM and wiring harness from one of those cars, and the computer will run your tranny fine. The Megasquirt is great if you're going 5-speed, but you still have to control your auto tranny. Sticking with the factory ECM and tuning it is the best option. Either way, you're still going to have to address the gauges, and the only way it's been done successfully so far is aftermarket, or piggybacking your factory ECM for the sensors to the gauge cluster.
...and you would have to get the v6 pcm and get some custom motor mounts made...
