Are there any '00-'02 Cavalier Z24 convertibles that came with a 5 speed transmission? It seems every one that I come across is an automatic...

Very, very few... I have been told they were special order only, though I don't know if that is true or not. I've only seen one legitimate one on here, that was Christine's old Z24: http://www.j-body.org/members/cloney/cars/1/

I bought my 00 'vert with an automatic and converted it to a 5 speed... until I blew the engine with the GM supercharger... but that's another story. Doesn't count though... it didn't come from the factory that way.

That's what I kind of thought. How much of a PITA was it to convert yours to 5 speed? I think I remember seeing a progress thread back in the day but hell if I could find it again.

Gauge cluster
ECM
Transmission
Wiring Harness
Shifter Assembly
Shifter plate on center console

Gauge cluster is the same on 00+ cars, so you don't need that. But the rest, and lots more if you want it to move Like axles. And the mounts to weld to the frame. I did the dash harness too, so I had the proper wiring for the clutch switch. Gets rid of the auto trans neutral safety switch wiring too.. just easier to swap it if you have it, than to hack up the stock harness.

if your looking for a 2nd phase 3rd gen convertible 5sp.. good luck. 2000 was the last year for the jbody convertible.
