No Turn Signals
Monday, November 23, 2009 3:33 PM
Well I just got my 97 2.2 back on the road finally but my only problem is that I do not have directionals. I do however have hazards and all the lights work but no directionals. The running, when you turn to parking lights, they come on and some when you flip to headlights and highbeams. Anyone have any idea what this could be. I checked the fuses and they all are ok for the turning and such too btw.

Thanks.

Either the headlamp switch of the flasher is bad.

It has been my experience over the years that this occurs.

If one side of the blinekrs go out it is the switch, if they all stop working it is the flasher, or if you switch it ro right or left, and the arrows just light up and dont flash it is the flasher

since all of yours are out it is very likely the flasher is bad, because for the switch to be bad, the contact for both the right and left side would have to be bad at the same time, not likely

Thanks, well I found out that if I hold down the stalk(sp) for right signal I get a rapid signal noise like it would if there was a bulb out, if I press down harder I get the directional to work normal and when I let off the directional goes out. Same goes for if I push it up. Hmmm.

Forgot to mention I get no arrows on the dash unless I hold the switch firmly down or up for the signals.

Just pray that it's not the flasher, that particular component is a b**** to change in our cars!!!!

Still nursing the busted knuckles and sore neck from the last time I did it....
