What is a Z-type ?

Ok recently i got hit by a person running a red, and just bought a replacement 2003 Cavalier Z-type I'm pretty sure it's got the suspension and body of the z24 but it still has the 2.2l eco what exaclty is it?
its an auto any one got a guess the 1/4 mile time ?

Show us a pic and we'll be able to tell you for sure, but the chances are good that the dealer did it to make you pay more than you should have.

ztypes are canadian arnt they? with 15" rims rather then 16" like ls sports and canadian z24s ?

The "Z-Type Sport Appearance Package"... aka dealer rice, just like the Z22 before it. It's the Canadian equivalent of the "Sport Appearance Package" in US.

15" alloy wheels (instead of steel wheels & hubcaps), front and rear bumpers like the Z24/LS Sport model, fog lights, side skirts, and a polished exhaust tip. From what I can tell from the GM brochures, it was only available on the VL coupe models... so they would be base model suspensions, interiors, etc... with the exception of looking like a Z24 with different wheels.

Looks like the difference between the Canadian Z-Type and the US Sport appearance package... is the US model comes with 16" alloy wheels, not 15" like in Canada. I'm sure there's more... but I'm skimming..

Alright thanks for the info guys

here it is in all its dealer rice glory lol
debadged it , put in a K&N panel filter and Royal Purple Synthetic
couple maintenance things finished front control arm bushings and a coolant change

That my friend is whats called a z-type in canada . no painted mirrors and no painted door handles no 16" wheels and possibly no leather shift knob.

plans, but no money

its getting terrible gas mileage compared to my standard 2200
put a new fuel filter on it's slightly better but still terrible compared to the 2200 i try to drive it under 3500 rpm

any suggestions?

and is their a way to check for a resistor on the iat or where ever else they put these things and what reading should i get on a ohm meter ?

haha have changed the oil and air filter its a daily commuter so its no need for a heavy foot
