my motor is all in and wired im waiting on a throttle body adapter to fire it up but i hooked up the battery to check things and have a weird problem. the signal indicater lights on the dash (little arrows come on wen u turn on blinker) come on wen the the headlights come on, or i hit the horn. and the blibnkers dont work? non of the serial data lines are connected to the body and i didnt ouch the body wiring? any ideas? bad relay or mulitfunction switch? idk weirdest thing.

Its possible that the BCM acts up without the serial data. I had a weird problem like that in my wife's car where I replaced her drivers side mirror, and I managed to get the wrong one. It caused other things to act up, like when I use the remote to unlock the doors, the drivers seat would move all the way forward and up. The computers in cars can act unpredictable sometimes when they don't have all of the proper signals or loads on them.

If it's a 99, then it might be the cluster that's got those issues. I know on the 95-99 clusters if you just hook power to them without the data line coming into it, most of the warning lights stay on. Not sure about what happens if you get a signal such as headlights on. On those clusters, the turn signals and headlight signals are mostly direct connections, but again, they can act up for odd reasons.

Again, just a suggestion. It very well could be your combination switch. That can cause wierd issues when it's going, too.

Use it as a core and order a bored-out one from Wot-Tech.com.

Edit:OK. I just re-read this and realized that you were looking for one. LOL. I read it the first time that you had one laying around. I was a little confused why you had posted it.
Sometimes reading owns me.

When I first got mine wired up this was happening with my left blinker. But the blnker still worked. Turns out that both front signal bulbs on the left side were burnt out. I didn't have any serial data lines hooked up. You really don't need them unless you want your fuel level gauge to stay steady, or want your temp gauge to work. Even at that you only need the 1 wire.

Only if you enjoy having strong instant throttle response from your car.

Decent....

But for you having an ECOTEC car, I'd honestly just recommend boosting the ECO.
