im wiring my v6 now and have a few questions.
on the c100 i have a "sensor return" and "cel light" wires any one know were they go. i figured the cel went to the ecm but no pin labled for it. i have few other wires im unsure on but cant remember them right now. any help appreciated.
The CEL is a brown wire. It gets 12v+ when the CEL is on. Cutting it will prevent the light from coming on.
The sensor return I forget what it's for.

k but u know were it goes? the cel th is does it go to the ecu? on my diagram i dont have any thing labled cel light only coming out of the c100?
if i have it wrote down right the brown wire should go to pin c2-5 on your 3400 computer
The 3400 harness has the CEL labeled as something else, but I believe it's still a brown wire. If I can put my hands on the wiring harness description file, I'll find it, but they are posted in one of the swap threads here.
CEL is the same as MIL should have a brown with labled MIL control MIL stands for MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP
sensor return is a fuel tank wire comes from that area what colour is it you should also have another one that same colour that goes to the fuel tank thinks its a pressure sensor return

Thank you. I was having a serious mental block on that. I knew it had "indicator" in it, but I was drawing a major blank on the rest.
thanx guys im sure ill have a few more isues but that helped me alot anyone know were i can get a diagram of the cav underhood fuse box i cant find one anywere on all data?
bump anyone know about a diagram of the underhood fuse box. 99 z24 manual?
GM or a shop that uses mitchell program (might be a canadian thing) i have all that stuff but i can't post it it wont allow me to copy it damn GM and there copyrights
you really don't need the fuse box scematic you will have the wires from the 3400 harness that go to those relays aslong as there labled you can make the connection

yea i got a few i think green wires and some others that idk were they go i have them comin out the fuse block but have no idea were the go or wat there for?
also anyone know were the feed for icm, map, and injector feeds come from?
do you not have a cavalier engien schematic if not this will be very hard to do
those green wire 1 is fuel pump relay control and the other is cooling fan low speed control you will delete high speed as js done have 2 speed fans thats simple the ICM and MAP pink ign wires will have to connect to the appropriate spot on the C100 harness or you will pop fuses if you over load a fuse what ever circuit has the ICM (should be by itself) put it there the map gets connected with a couple of them
injectors and feul pump pinks go together and get connected to there peticular circuit once again if you don't have or don't know how to read the schematic this harness may not work right all the info is on the GM schematic you don't even need the pin out sheet because the GM schematic has everything you need if you don't have it go to a dealer and get it it will save you for sure

the problem m running into the most is i didnt start with a complete 3400 harness. i can read a diagram but jw ill try to get a pic of the box and wires in question. i figured out the fuel pump/injector thing its a grey wire. and as far as icm and map they get fed from the c100 ur saying? i spent like an hour on all data and thouught i figued the icm out but cant remember for sure my notes are home and my brain is fried.
Well I will tell you what I did with my first harness. It's a little more involved than what you're doing, but should help you, since you don't have a complete harness to begin with.
I had to completely redo my harness, because it came from a RWD vehicle, so all the components were in different spots. My decision was to completely cut the harness about a foot from the ECM after labeling all of my wires. I then took the wiring diagram from the Cavalier, and from the Donor vehicle, and one by one ran the wires to where they needed to go. IIRC, everything that needed ignition power ran from the engine to the C-100. Everything that used a relay went to a green wire in the underhood fuse box, as well as one or two wires from the ECM. The rest I just reconnected between the engine and the ECM, but with the new routing I needed. You shouldn't need to go quite that far, but I would seriously start by taking any wires in the engine harness that aren't hooked up, and mark them by what they are, and what type of feed they are (ignition power, relay, etc). Then Mark the wires coming from the C-100 and fuse box. There are a few different C-100 wiring diagrams around here. I had posted the one from a 95, but I'm not sure if it will be the same as yours. They did make a few changes over the years. As for figuring out which green wire goes to which relay, I would get a multimeter, and just pull the relays, and use the multimeter to find which relay connects to which wire. It's tedious, I know, but sometimes it's just best to bite the bullet and do it.
Here's the C-100 pinout I have. If I can find the 3400 diagrams and pinouts, I'll post them as well. I need to get all my files together to add to the sticky, so people can find them more easily.

yea i kinda did the samish thing i started with a 95 3100 engine harness for most of the connectors and spliced in a 99 3400 ecm plug almost everything is wired acept the last few wires but thats good to know that the greens are for relays. i have the c-100 and ecm plug diagrams and stuff just couldnt find one for the underhood fuse block but im sure ill figure it out just gotta put the time into it. not dificult just gotta do it. thanx guys for all the help ill keep u posted. hopin to have this up and runnin soon.
anyone know if there are anyother 3500 third gens out there idk if ill be the first or not?
just read your cavalier schematic and it should hav say the pink MAF wire and in the line it will say C100 beside the line then have a number probably B1 but not 100% sure
i'm not posting up where wires go because i'm not gonna be resopnseible if someone copies and does more harm then good and tries to blame me

yea no probs man yea last night i got the ecm, icm, and all the fuse block wires done, so im almost done. just theres a black and white wire out of the fuel pump relay? ground? thats wat im figurin.
black and white from the relay is a ground

alright thanx man. anyone know about the 3500? will i be the first on the .org or?
As far as I know, yes. Just out of curiosity, did you get the external crank trigger for it?
yea i have an external crank trigger and lx5 tb adapter. so far other than havin to use a few parts from a 3400 its been staight foward. i haven 3400 swapped b4 but i cant imagine its much harder than that.
I forgot you need the TB adapter as well, but the crank trigger is huge, since the resolution is different.
yea the relucter wheel on the crank is wrong on the 3500 to use the 3400 sensor in place so i got the tce external crank trigger a nd am waiting on the lx5 adapter. im using 3400 exhaust mannis, water neck fuel rail, injectors, coils, wiring, and ecm. and a 95 i think grand am motor mount. and a muncie 282 tranny.
