new V6 upper mount

Hey guys. I just wanted to throw this out there. I designed an upper mount for the 3400 style that will bolt into the factory frame rail bracket just like the older 3100 style. I sent the specs to the shop for a quote, and when I get it, I'll post it up, but I wanted to see if there was interest in these.

The base is designed for completely recessed allen head bolts that will be flush with the surface once tightened down.
As with the other style, this will allow the use of the eurethane inserts.

Comments, questions, potential interest?

I use Solidworks 2005, and unfortunately, this will not work for a 3800. I should have clarified, but it works with the 00+ 3x00 60 degree engines.

Dammit and after I hacked off my stock frame mount to put on the 99+ n body one. Oh well work with what I have I guess.

Hmm.... I may have to look into the possibility of swapping my stock mount back in. Looks good here.

I love when an interest thread gets jacked with someone pointing out another product.

But yeah, the Wot-tech mount will be the easier option if you've already hacked off your factory mount bracket to use the N-body mount. I forgot they were coming out with this (they've been discussing it on 60degreeV6.com).

However, if you're looking to do this swap, my mount will make it a much simpler install. Just bolt it to the motor, and bolt it into your factory bracket. I'm hoping that either tomorrow or Tuesday I'll have pricing.

Yes, I can ship to Canada.

Yes, aluminum. Available polished, or anodized. These will be just like the other mounts shown in the V6 swap thread as far as fit, quality, and finish.

I know, it just seems to happen in almost any interest thread I've started. Like I said, that is actually a better option for anyone who has already gone and removed the factory bracket.

Don't you mean hasn't removed it?

No, I was referring to the Wot-tech one. If you've already removed your factory bracket, that would be a simpler option for you.

Mine would be better for anyone who has not removed the bracket.

Hmm.... I never knew that mount was on there. Else I'd probably have gotten it by now. I have a big problem with the engine moving around.

In my case though, I have removed the factory bracket, but it could be put back in I suppose (haven't looked into it much, been a while since the mount was taken out anyways) since it's in the trunk. I guess I'll anxiously await the price quotes for this piece then decide what will be a best option later.

Alright peeps, here's a quick estimate for you. It looks like these are going to end up with a price tag of about $175 shipped to the continental US, including the allen head bolts. Hashing out a few details right now, as I may end up using a different shop, but finish availability may change.

I'd like some input on the finish, as it will help decide which way to go: I can have them done with anodizing, and/or powdercoating, or bare. The shop I usually go with offers the anodizing. The other shop I'm considering does not offer anodizing, but they offer powdercoating.

What would be the preferred finish?

Whats the price and durability difference between the 2?

Cost difference is very minimal. I don't want to post until I get the final quotes.

As far as durability, they're both very durable finishes, but some difference: anodizing adds no material to speak of, therefor keeps the original dimensions better. For this reason, I like anodizing for these types of parts. Powdercoating, however, is more resistant to scratches and staining than anodizing.

As I said, I'll post up exact pricing when I get the quotes back, but I wanted to see which finish people might prefer.
