Well i have a check engine light. The code is P0442. Its for defective/loos fuel cap, evap canister or hose cracked, purge or vent solenoind, vacuum leak. I had the same code around 2 months ago, and changed the fuel cap, that didnt do it so i took it to a dealer and had it fixed. What could it be? I always make sure to tighten the fuel cap when i fill up. Is there anything anyone has found to go wrong with the 2200 engines. The car is a 2002 cavalier with the 2200 engine and 5 speed.

how long ago did you take it to the dealership? it should have a parts warranty? take it back

theres 114,xxx on it, im thinkin it was in around december, would have to get the paperwork out to find out for sure tho.

possibly purge solenoid stuck open and obd is reading as large leak....like $28 part from dealer
