the swap is done, but th engine wont fire. it cranks, but wont fire. it doesnt seem to be getting fuel. i pushed in the bleeder on the fuel rail and nothing comes out. anyone have any ideas? all fuses are in also.
Does the fuel pump kick on?
it doesnt sound like it is
check your volts on the power side of the fuel pump plug-in. if thats good then it sounds like your pump is bad, g/l.
stick your ear near the tank as some turns the key on...you will hear it if comes on.
if not start with the relay and check all your wiring

the fuel pump defenately isnt turning on. its the same one out of the 2200 which ran fine. i dont know why its not working now.
check the relay and wiring something might not be connected right

did you do the security relearn? where you turn the key to the on position for 11 mins then turn off and start it. also make sure your theft light is going off. if its on your pump will not work. if thats all good. check connections.
squart some fuel manually in the throttle body, if it fires and runs for more than 5 or so seconds its not a theft thing, Also while your trying to do that watch the theft light and see if its blinking. blinking is a theft system prob. More than likely while doing the swap you may have missed a wire or 2.

i did the relearn, the security light isnt on. maybe i'll do the relearn again just to be sure. i ran threw my harness yesturday and everything seems to be in place. i'm going to work on this after work today and get it figured out.
got the fuel pump working. still doesnt fire just yet. the problem is the body harness wasnt full plugged in, so it wasnt getting a good connection.

He has not gotten there yet. Relearn is needed when theft lock kicks in. You know that because it starts for about 2 seconds and shuts off.

mine kicked in as soon as i plugged in a new computer that it did not already have learned.
bp- if you haven't already pull that plug apart and make sure you don't have any bent prongs or broken wires. lot of stuff to check might even be a bad ecm, hopefully not.
it doesnt look like anythings messed up. it just wasnt pushed down all the way. car still only cranks, tries to start, but doesnt. hopefully tomorrow it'll start.
Do you know if your getting spark or injector pulse?
Does the fuel pump continue to run while cranking?
01 cav w/01 3400 gam gt 4t45e
it is getting fuel and spark. it tries to run, but wont stay running. i'm thinking its either the map sensor or the crank position sensor.
nope. checked the compression. starting at the timing chain it was: 27, 120, 90,120. that would most likely be the problem. the numbers are so low because i didn't hold th throttle open, but the 27 i think is washed out. i'm going to try and re-lube it and see if it holds pressure.
holding the throttle open wont change anything. Washed cylinders will. Map sensor will cause this. Havent seen the new compact design go bad yet but yours could be a first.
A map problem doesnt explain the cylinder 2 and 4 reading at 120, if it was a map problem, they all should be low. I would think.
A good sign of a map problem is when you pull the plugs they are always drenched with gas. But it gets spark, may not show on a wet plug cause the gas shorts the plug out.
Check your oil level too, if your over full you could have a bunch of gas in the oil, which is bad for bearings when you get it started.
Crank sensors usually either work or dont, if your getting spark and fuel your crank sensor is fine.
Might sound stupid but try a different set of plugs. If the old ones are wet, crank it over a couple of times with out plugs in and the ignition module unplugged, to get the gas out. Often the stupid things are overlooked.

i scanned the car and there were no codes. i dont know for sure, but i think the bad map sensor or crank sensor would have shown up. i still think i'm going to try new ones. i tried new plugs also. i'm getting frustrated with this thing. i wish i could just drive it already.
Stupid question of the day...
How much gas is in the tank?
a little more than a quarter tank

lol, im not going to lie, i have done that myself.
swapped a 455ci in to my 70' C/10 and didnt notice all the fuel leaked out while it was sitting.
(didnt plug the fuel line good when i pulled out the orig. I-6.)
lol i spent 2 nights tring to figure it out, until my girl was cranking and said hey you dumbass your
fuel gauge is on E!
never lived it down..
but yeah man good luck,
im real curious to see what the prob is.
