i recently installed HID in my cav (low beam only) when i only have 1 light plugged it it work when i plug them both in they will not light. A flicker and then there off. I disconnected the ground on both and when i ground the individually they work. Work could it be they are v v m e. Does anyone have hid installed if so how did you do it?
Get a relay harness for a negative ground, and hook them up using that.
Sounds like you have a cheaper kit, those ballasts pull way to much power at start up to not run a relay.
that also adds to your flickerig problem.

How the heck does one disable the DRL, anyway?
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
go to the exterior forum and itll have a section for drl disable. its cake once youve done it

Your choice forr temperature is 8K? Geez, why don't you just limo-tint your windshield & wear a blindfold while you drive at night.

8k isn't that bad, personally i think 5k is the best, but 8k is relatively mild compared to some of the 10k and 12k ones kids around here are running lol
4700 is what I'm shootin' for... The closest I can get to pure (Not "warm" or "cool") white light, the better.

Here's a bit of advice for all those fretting over color temp:
Goto: www.danielsternlighting.com (<-Type it into your address bar because I can't make functioning links!).
This guy has several articles on lighting mods to try & guidelines, including one on the importance of color temperature that should be required reading for those looking to get aftermaket lamps.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
Except all his info is for standard halogen bulbs it seems, I see nothing mentioned about HID lighting and colors at all.
there 2 completely different fields.
It's there. Just look a lil' deeper...

do any one know if they make kits that have high and low beam for the 2000-2002. just wondering?

khaserwolf: i have 6000k HID's in my car that i ordered from yourhotcar.com about a year ago. i've had the same problems with mine flickering and my passenger one stopped working. im having to get this relay harness also. working on that now as we speak. but the HID's for 00-02 come with two bulbs. HID which is low beam and also comes with high beam bulb (which is halogen) but believe me when you get HID's your not going to need high beams. i never once have thought "wow i could use high beams right now".
6000k in my car is REALLY WHITE. puts out really good light and doesnt look blue at all. any lower turns to the yellow color and any higher goes into the blues. in my personal opinion 6000k puts off best driving light.
Picture below is my HID's 6000k. They only have a slight blue tint in them.
Lights on the right are my car 6000k and lights on the left are 3000k.
This picture is my buddies EK hatch with 8000k.
Quiklilcav: wow i'd like to find a set of those. they sound nice
yea if i do it, the bi-xenon projectors are more what i think i want. but what that u say about the bulbs with the motor in them u was saying? any links
