Not sure if I'm putting this in the right section! However, is it possible to remove the alternator bracket on the 2200 without removing the metal coolant line that runs in front of the valve cover? I want to take it out to polish it as it looks like hell, I started to unbolt everything but as I was doing it and looking at the coolant line I thought crap this isn't going to be as straight forward as removing a few bolts!! Any help would be much appreciated!
yea you can remove just the bracket, but you will have to take the exhaust manifold off as well
^^
You can take the bracket off without taking anything else off. (That is, aside from the belt and alternator). Theres 2 bolts down by the waterneck, and 2 nuts on the headstuds for it. lift and remove.
that's what I was gunna say. where did you get the idea of having to take off the manifold?
You have to remove the alt bracket to get the mani off.....but NOT the other way around.
perhaps that is where the confusion is.
^Probably.
Im probably going to do this myself, I want to polish the upper coolant pipe, and the alternator bracket, mine are getting narsty as well.
I'll be sure to get some photos up as soon as I get around to it lol
