so i got a motor for my sunfire (2.4) andgot it home to realize it was a bit differnnt. the intake i dont mind but on the back of the block there is plug with one wire (round plug) while mine has a 2 prong plug so i unbolted them to find out the holes were diff size the one i bought to put in my car has a bigger hole then the one i took out....is there anyway i can splice this togather to get it to work?
Knock Sensor??? 96-98 and 99+ were different, one was bigger than the other. I ran into that when I was swapping a 99 2.4 into the bay where a 95 2.3 used to call home.
Only one of them carries signal I believe, and the other is just a ground. My intentions were to ground one wire and splice the other one together and hope it worked....
I never made it that far though, pulled the motor back out and parted out before I got there..
yah thats what i thought, give it a try i gues, thanks for the reply
got hte motor in the car and flicked the key and it started rite up and ishut it off because i never had the exaust hooked up so i hooked it up and she fired up perfect but was idling high so i shut it off after about 20 secs. so i went in and went to bed came out today and hooked up the plug on the intake and fired up the car and it ran like @!#$. now it wont run at all, makes a sputer to start an jus cranks. anyone have any ideas i need to have this done by the weekend if posible. would it have anything to do wit the knock sensor? i hooked up one of the wires and it ran fine last nite. the car is geting gas and fire i checked. also the motor had an egr on it i took it off and changed my intakew but what would i do about were it bolted to the motor? my motor has the same holes in it but nothing came off mine so i left it aloine? sry for the long rant but if anyone go an idea would realy appreacate it
