i am wondering im in the process of rebuilding my 01 z24 and am about to drop a new motor in it (old one spun a rod bearing). My neighbor can get me a 2.3 quad 4 with only 12,000 miles on it for 500 bucks. what all is involved in doing this swap because i would like to have some questions for this guy when i call him tommorow. 2.3's I dont believe were OBD 2 so your going to have lots of wiring issues. You would be better off getting the correct engine replacement. your reallly not going to save any money by trying to put in the 2.3 since you r going to have to spend money on converting the car to OBD 1.
